Event description
Learn to use (spatial and regular) databases using SQL queries and Python in this live hands-on class taught by PropertyQuants' PhD CTO.

About this Event

Harness the potential of truly large datasets to find market-beating insights and opportunities. Learn in-depth details about databases, how they are set up, and work through numerous exercises using SQL to efficiently find and extract the relevant information you need. In this hands-on session, we'll discuss:

  • The use cases for databases and the types of databases available
  • Best practices in data architecture and design
  • Injecting and retrieving data (including SQL queries)
  • Accessing databases across different environments (including Python)
  • Spatial database extensions (including PostGIS and SpatiaLite)

While examples are drawn heavily from real estate, these methods are highly adaptable across industries.
