Prayers for World Peace- Free Vesak Day Event
Event Information
About this event
We should know that learning to cherish others is the best method for establishing world peace in general, and for our own peace of mind in particular. If everyone sincerely prays to be able to cherish other living beings, then gradually through the power of this prayer, everyone will actually cherish each other. The world will then be permanently at peace, and pure and everlasting happiness will pervade the world. - Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche
This year's Vesak Day celebration will begin with a Dharma talk with our Resident Teacher, Kelsang Rabka based on Buddha's teachings on love and compassion. This talk will be conjoined with Prayers for World Peace - praying that all conflict and suffering within the world quickly cease - as well as a special meditation on giving pure happiness to others.
There will then be a brief break during which it will be possible to make personal prayers and offerings to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, after which there will be the opportunity to engage in a relaxation meditation with one of the students of Kadampa Meditation Centre SG.
All events are free to attend and everybody is welcome, however please book as places are limited.
