About this event

Who is it for?

People who are passionate about the importance and value of the PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT and/or interested in the strength of values as powerful emotion laden motivators generally.

Why come?

Spend time with people who have a common interest to share and hear different perspectives and explore the meaning and benefit of 'PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT' to yourself and others.

The sessions provide safe space, encouraging courageous conversations, development of whole group thinking and a commitment to personal action for positive impact.

Develop your thinking about PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT and translate this into a tangible action/s for you to apply in practice as part of the International Mother Earth Day https://www.un.org/en/observances/earth-day on Saturday 22nd April. We are delighted to be partnering with Rob Bowden who will introduce the topic. Rob is a director of Lifeworld's https://lifeworlds.co.uk/home and one of its foundlings. He co-ordinates the practitioner team and is responsible for the day to day running of Lifeworlds.

Rob has held various former roles including as a researcher and lecturer in three UK universities and as an acclaimed non-fiction author of over 100 children's books.

His work has taken him to Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and the Middle East, and his roles have included staff development, policy research, resource production, strategic planning, conference facilitation and direct work with learners of all ages.

Rob regularly publishes articles and blogs relating to his work and is currently completing a PhD in Young People, Power and Social Transformation with the Dept of Social Studies at Northumbria University. He is best known for designing and leading transformational learning journeys and within Lifeworlds leads on work around the leadership of change, and a deeper understanding of values, empathy and resilience as they relate to learning.

The format

The formal 60 minutes session uses the playful ValuesJam approach which is inspired by the concept of a music jam where musicians come together with a sense of trust, curiosity and playfulness. At the same time, it draws on a blend of three highly respected approaches: Bohm Dialogue (David Bohm), Thinking Spaces (Nancy Klein) and Humble Inquiry (Edgar H. Schein). The session will be recorded for access post the event. Then Rob and Alan will be available for a further 30 minutes if people want to stay and chat.

The VALUESJAM DEEPDIVE series has been created by SERVICEBRAND GLOBAL on behalf of Global Values Alliance and a share of the proceeds will be donated to World Values Day.
