About this event
Most of us spend the majority of our time outside the four walls of the church, and God desires for us to be agents of transformation in every sphere of influence He’s placed us in. Whether you’re in the corporate world, in the ministry space walking with those in the marketplace, or stewarding a different kind of “marketplace” like a group of stay-home-mums, know that God is raising worshippers and leaders who are ready to step into their identity as Kings with authority, influence, and resources; and as Priests bringing worship, intercession, and the tangible Presence of God. In this special panel session, learn from marketplace leaders who have understood their assignment and have embraced their calling effectively.
In this elective you will:
• Hear from marketplace leaders who have stewarded their spaces for the Lord
• Understand your calling as Kings and Priests in your sphere of influence
• Be challenged in inspired to impact those God’s placed around you
• Interact with our panel of leaders
Our panelists:
Reuben Lai co-founded Arkadiah, a nature tech company that revives degraded lands through AI-enabled nature restoration. He is passionate about leveraging his experience of having run multiple technology businesses to accelerate Southeast Asia’s momentum towards a nature-positive future.
Prior to Arkadiah, he was Senior Managing Director at GXS Bank (GXS), a digital bank whose mission is to make banking better for everyday consumers and small businesses. He oversaw the bank’s regional growth strategy and technology development. He served on the Board of GXS and the Digibank in Malaysia.
He also held roles as Senior Managing Director at Grab Financial Group, where he spearheaded all verticals across the region including payments, lending, insurance and wealth management. Under his leadership, Grab Financial Group grew into one of the largest fintech in the region, hitting unicorn status with the closing of its Series A funding. He also led the company in securing Digibank licences in Singapore and Malaysia.
He was formerly at Bain & Company and The Walt Disney Company. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from INSEAD.
So-Young Kang is a transformation designer who helps organizations and individuals stay human in an increasingly digital world. Her work over the last 20+ years focuses on better aligning kingdom culture with the business and technology world.
She has committed her life to equipping and discipling other equippers so they can develop others and transform culture across organizations, nations, communities and systems across generations. She does this through her calling, serving as CEO of Gnowbe (microlearning solution for training), Founding Chairman of Awaken Group (human-centered transformation design firm), strategic advisor to teams at Tapouts social and emotional well being for children, Al & Faith (global network to influence Al development with ethics and values, Care for Children (placing millions of orphans into loving homes), Tower Capital Asia (private equity fund), Young Professionals' Group (mentoring next generation), and SEA Founders (largest ecosystem of tech founders across Southeast Asia).
Timothy Wong has been a banker for the last 32 years. He is the head of research for DBS Bank and has a passion to see the redemption of business (and in particular banking) through the principles of the economics of mutuality. https://eom.org/
On a volunteer basis, Tim co-leads a kingdom initiative called the SG500 Asia Cities Forum. He has a burden to see the 4.5b pre-believers in Asia reached via ground up gospel movements in the 500 largest cities of Asia by the year 2033. He sees this happening through a proliferation of micro church movements in workplaces and neighbourhoods across Asia, starting with the 6m who live on the Island of Singapore.
He is the co-author of the book “Why Asian Cities”, which explains more about this initiative.
