Pulse/Drift: Deep Listening Session
Overview
Pulse/Drift: Deep Listening Session invites audiences to slow down and immerse in sound as a living, breathing response to Sonic and Visual Currents in Asian Cinema, an ongoing film programme by Mixmag Asia and the Asian Film Archive throughout November.
This intimate session translates the emotional and sonic textures of the featured films into a live ambient soundscape, tracing the subtle echoes, silences, and reverberations that shape how we listen and feel across Asian cinema.
Kin Leonn will be performing a hybrid set, curating a selection of soundtrack and ambient score while filling in the gaps with live film audio sampling and electronic improvisation. Through a series of fluid, evolving compositions, the performance explores the continuum between sound and image, from high-BPM urban rhythms to meditative, atmospheric tones, creating space for deep, embodied listening.
Come drift and dissolve into the layers with spatialised sound, utilising RASA’s TPI soundsystem for quadraphonic sound on the main floor.
