pureblue begins the first of its live series—an ethereal flow of sound shaped by five artists. The evening opens with improvisational sound artist Leo Chang (USA) presenting 전모(電毛)놀이 Jeonmonori—his electronic reimagining of the sangmo, a traditional Korean hat adorned with a long, spinning ribbon. Worn during sangmonori performances, the sangmo merges dance and percussion, a fusion Leo translates into his distinctive sonic practice.
As the night unfolds, Mervin Wong, TZECHAR , and Kin Leonn enter the soundscape in experimental sequence, layering and responding to the textures in real time. Throughout, Butoh artist XUE traces the evolving sonic terrain through visceral, embodied movement.
