In case you perfer to join the in-person edition in November, <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/167832378161" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">click here</a>. ========================DesignSingapore Council’s ‘School of X’ connects communities together to design solutions to the pressing, complex challenges we all face in our everyday lives.However, bringing those brilliant ideas to life can sometimes feel as overwhelming as coming up with those innovative solutions.To help you devise action plans to take your ideas from prototype to reality, the School of X is delighted to offer a short, fast-paced, impact-focused Masterclass to guide you in generating a powerful value proposition, and drilling down into your optimal delivery model.The Masterclass, delivered by globally renowned business innovation expert, Maaike Doyer, will draw upon the Business Model Canvas (BMC) tool, which is designed to help organisations think about how best to capture value from their product or service as well as guide the operationalisation of new concepts.Over the course of two half-day online workshop sessions, the programme will take innovators through the building blocks of any business endeavour, providing a simple but effective framework that enables agile business modelling and pivoting. The Masterclass has been designed to be accessible to anyone with a good idea they wish to roll out regardless of their business experience - and will culminate in usable business plans in which your designs can be transformed into implementable innovations.The programme will be delivered over two separate days to allow individual research to be undertaken between the sessions, further enhancing the generation of usable solutions from the Masterclass workshops.Participants can expect the following programme:Workshop 1 - Tuesday September 21 - 13:00 - 17:30We will firstly learn all about the Business Model Canvas (BMC). Beyond learning just the basics, we will understand the power of this tool and learn how to apply it to our ideas. We will also apply design thinking to the business model canvas and learn how to create multiple BMC options for the same concept.Workshop 2 - Wednesday September 22 - 13:00 - 17:30For this lesson, we will analyse your business models on a more advanced level. Specifically, we will discuss how to make your business model stronger, how to apply financials at the BMC level, and how to validate the critical assumptions of your business model.The workshop will be very interactive, with all activities centred around learning by doing.A certificate of participation will be issued to all who have completed the programme.

About our Masterclass FacilitatorMaaike Doyer is an entrepreneur, educator, and design strategist with a twisted love for numbers.Maaike has just moved to Singapore from Silicon Valley, where she was previously the co-founder of Business Models Inc Americas, a global strategy and innovation firm, and producer of the Business Model Generation book. She has had tremendous experience in guiding many global multinationals and start-up entrepreneurs along their innovation journey. A regular speaker at conferences, Maaike has also created numerous online masterclasses, and has taken on the role of professor at various universities and MBAs as well as mentor for several start-up accelerators.About School of XThe School of X (SoX) is a real-world open learning platform for anyone to learn and practice human-centred design by working together with others on social design challenges.
