In June 2022, the iconic Singapore music venue Blu Jaz reopened its live music program with the Jazz Loft, located on the 3rd floor of it’s premises at Bali Lane.The mission of this new space, is to showcase jazz, and improvisation, as an evolving art form, rather than a museum-piece, presenting those artists, both local and international, that are part of the forward motion, and artistic development of the music.

Estonian composer and pianist Rahel Talts brings her Copenhagen-based quartet to the Jazz Loft on their first Asian tour. Her music, as featured on their album Greener Grass, displays a unique, modern and mature diversity of influences. Don't miss it!

Rahel Talts Quartet is a group formed in Copenhagen led by Estonian pianist Rahel Talts, that plays her original music.The music could mainly be described as energetic, acoustic, melodic jazz which has abundant influence from the tradition of jazz and bebop, but has a penchant for catchy, beautiful melodies; interesting, thought-through harmonies; and plenty of exciting, different rhythmic layers, all of which make the music more modern and unique. In short, it is a happy, melodic jazz with fun, unexpected twists. - truly original music.The group is mainly based in Denmark, where they all met during the formative process of studiy.In May 2023, the Rahel Talts Quartet released their first album "Greener Grass", which was very well received. The quartet have since played tours and concerts all over Europe, mainly in Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, with future planned concerts in France, Germany and other places in Europe.This is their first time in Singapore and South-East Asia in general, so it will be a special and exciting journey of discovery, forming new connections and deepening the expressive pallette for the whole group.
