“REFORESTATION DAY IN MA DA FOREST, DONG NAI”
HOSTED BY SINGCHAM VIETNAM AND SUPPORTED BY VLS
Ma Da Forest, Dong Nai Nature Reserve, Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai ProvinceTree planting and reforestation efforts contribute significantly to a healthier planet and can foster community engagement and education about environmental stewardship. As part of SingCham Vietnam’s social responsibility commitment toward education and environment, this June 2025, we will partner with Vietnamese Language Studies (VLS) to organise: “Reforestation Day in Dong Nai”, thankfully graced by the Consul-General of the Consulate-General of the Republic of Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City.
Do join our inaugural dual-CSR Reforestation Day where every sapling we plant revives Ma Da Forest, and every surplus arising from this event will directly fund scholarships for deserving Vietnamese students. One day of action, a lifetime of impact – for the earth and its next generation.
This year, our destination will be Ma Da Forest of Dong Nai Nature Reserve (Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai Province), about 80km from Ho Chi Minh City. Ma Da owns a vast primeval forest, known as the green lung of the Southeast region. In alignment with Dong Nai Nature Reserve Rangers, we will be planting Rosewood, Linden, Copperpod, Golden Oak. Those specific types of trees will play an important role in absorbing carbon, enhancing biodiversity and wildlife habitats, improving water quality, and regulating the air for a large area. The Tri An hydroelectric lake has an area of over 32,500 hectares, in addition to contributing greatly to circulating the air, providing fresh water for drinking and daily life for the majority of people living in Bien Hoa city and Ho Chi Minh City.
After covering all relevant costs, 100% of surplus generated from this event will flow directly to aid Education Fund (EdFund), initiated by pioneering members of SingCham Vietnam in the early 1990s as a means of giving back to the local community. To date, the Fund has raised over US$ 500,000 and supported 3,000 Vietnamese students from primary to university level in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, provinces in Northern Central Vietnam, and the Mekong Delta.
We seek your esteemed participation in making our living place “Greener”. Join us to be overwhelmed by the endless green Ma Da forest, and to give a hand to reserve that pristine beauty.
