Event description

Description

An evening where radiant energy and soundscape meet to explore the nuances of wakefulness, dream states and everything in between. It’s not a typical meditation, but a soulful excursion into your consciousness within the liminal zone of life.

The evening will start off with a sharing session about resonance, light and sound, followed by guided meditation and 30 mins of Mandela lights with live monaural beats layered with ambient and nature sounds. Thereafter, come question our stuff and We Be Friends.

About Light :

Improviser and Facilitator, Ian Lam showcases the Mandala Light system which uses lasers to project geometric mandala fields of coherent light, carrying with it precise informational resonances that interact with the electromagnetic field of the user. Among the light therapy device's many uses, one of which is to restore the body’s energetic and informational fields by clearing out discordant vibrations, thereby bringing one’s mental and physical state to balance.

About Venue :

The Moon is a Bookstore, Cafe, and Event Space based in historical Chinatown, Singapore.

The Moon shines a light on the stories of so many wonderfully talented authors, creators and makers who may have slipped under the radar of the mainstream. Books at The Moon are specially curated with the aim of addressing the historical gender imbalance in Anglophone publishing, with an especial focus on writers and artists of colour. In a world that has increasingly lent itself to the persecution of difference, we believe now more than ever in the importance of safe spaces that celebrate, not limit, the value of diversity and multiculturalism.

Our commitment to inclusivity is reflected not only in our selection of books, but also in our menu options, which are designed to accommodate all dietary restrictions and choices. Our cafe extension and event space on the third floor is open to private bookings as well as free community events. While you’re up there, be sure to dip into our communal lending library (or donate a used book of your own!
