Presentation Style: This is an online session with presented slides, open discussion and the use of small group breakout rooms. There will be an opportunity to discuss sport specific case scenarios.
Learning outcomes for the session will include:
· Understanding appropriate use of language (defining child sexual abuse, sexual behaviour problems, harmful sexual behaviour etc)
· Appreciating the impact of sexual abuse of children and role of resilience in recovery (Finkelhor traumagenics)
· Understanding why children display sexual behaviour problems
· Being able to identify normative or expected sexual behaviour amongst children (age and stage appropriate behaviour)
· Being able to see children’s sexual behaviour on a continuum and understanding the role of context when identifying concerns re children’s sexual behaviours.
· Responding to inappropriate or problematic children’s sexual behaviour (including speaking to children about their behaviour in age appropriate ways, establishing boundaries and ground rules, redirection, promoting self-control and positive emotional expression, safety planning etc).
· Appreciating the role of safe adults in caring for children where there are sexual behaviour concerns

Understand the role that they can play in preventing child sexual abuse in sport as well developing a basic level of knowledge which they can share with others in their organisations.
