Are you someone who has to manage attrition and offboarding? Are you planning to leave a volunteer commitment, job, or community?

As a leader, shaping a good exit experience can help to bring closure and be rewarding for the people that remain and the person leaving.

In this session, we will be taking a deep dive into the exit process and its importance in the community experience.

In this 2-hour workshop, you will

• Understand the importance of the end/ exit/ offboarding phase
• Learn strategies on how to shape a good exit that can be used by both members, leaders and communities (eg. team leaders/ managers, employees and companies, or volunteer leaders/ managers, volunteers and nonprofits)
• Enjoy a safe space to reflect, share with, and learn about various forms of exits from fellow community leaders and members
• Identify actionable steps that you can implement in order to improve your community's exit experiences

Shaily Gupta (HR) Chief Advisor- Human Resources Consulting, Engee Advisors

Shaily Gupta brings with her over two decades of experience in Human Resources. She will share her experiences with corporate HR, having served as the Chief Human Resource Officer with professional services firms like Deloitte Consulting and PricewaterhouseCoopers GHRS Pte Ltd, Singapore.

Having led multiple organisational transformation journeys, Shaily brings with her a balanced and unique perspective. Her experiences with companies include partnering with stakeholders to deliver HR strategies aligned to their business priorities and leading large-scale change management initiatives to drive impactful organisational changes.

Shaily has a passion to make a difference that matters and is interested in traveling and learning about diverse cultures. She currently serves on the board and committees of various non-profits and does pro-bono executive coaching in her spare time.

With a wealth of experience in HR, she will be sharing about how organisations and leaders can better think about, navigate, and manage attrition and offboarding processes.

Justin Mui (LCCS) Executive Director - Lutheran Community Care Services

Believing that entrenched mindsets perpetuate similar solutions, and relationships are the conduit for transformation, Justin has created safe spaces for stakeholders to have conversations that matter. These include peacemaking amongst residents-in-conflict in public housing, rebuilding communities of care for ex-offenders and addressing school bullying by widening the circle of support. As an advocate for Restorative Practice, Justin believes that civil society can be strengthened when people are provided opportunities to have the ‘missing conversation’, to talk about what matters most in building and sustaining relationships.

He is also Board Chairman of SteppingStones Pte Ltd, a social enterprise that helps facilitate child adoption through matching prospective adoptive parents to break the hurt cycle for children desperately in need of a loving and nurturing home.

Justin will be sharing about how LCCS bids farewell to staff and interns through their practice of Goodbye Circles which provides an opportunity for restorative conversations and closure between the person leaving and the community that remains.

Alvin Chew (YCM) Ex-Chief Curator of Young ChangeMakers National Youth Council

Alvin began volunteering with Young Changemakers in 2015 and stepped up as a Chief Curator in 2020, where he led a team of more than 40 youths to evaluate project proposals, pitches, and building the changemakers network. In general, the Young Changemakers of the National Youth Council provides seed grants for youths with ideas and the desire to act on them.

He recently stepped down from his leadership role, and will be sharing his experiences in offboarding volunteers as well as personally moving on from the YCM volunteer community.
