Visit Singapore Book Council’s lounge and browse through their lovingly curated collection of FREE books! Choose from a variety of preloved children’s, YA, adult fiction and non-fiction books. Bring home the gift of reading for yourself or your loved ones.

Free Verse Poetry Writing (All Day, Guided: 10AM - 5PM )

Duration per session: 7 Minutes

Step up to the page and let your words dance!

Arrange an array of words and phrases in this activity to create a poetic work of art — a short verse, a vivid image, or a tiny tale.

This is a free drop-in activity, no registration required. Walk-ins welcome!

Find Me a Book! Scavenger Hunt (All Day, Guided: 10AM - 5PM )

Duration per session: 10 -15 Minutes

Think you’ve got what it takes to crack the clues and uncover hidden reads? Join the Genre Quest, a literary scavenger hunt around the office. Use the clues on your worksheet, snap a photo with each book, and record your answers. Only the first 10 genre masters to finish will win a prize. Move fast, think smart, and let the story-filled adventure begin!

Mystery Seed Creative Writing

Session 1: 11AM - 12PM

Session 2: 2.30PM - 3.30PM

Maximum capacity: 15 pax per session

Nurture the seed of your imagination in this hands-on literary experience inspired by the magic of planting and storytelling. This session invites you to enliven your creation by blending writing and illustration in a playful and meaningful way.

The River That Brings Us Life': An Interactive Storytelling + Sing-a-long

10:30am -11:15am

Join picture book author and illustrator, Sarah Ang in an interactive storytelling of "The River That Brings Us Life".

Journey through the true story of the Singapore Rivers' past and have fun in a memorable sing-a-long teaching children to care for our waterways.

This is a free activity with registration required.

Age Recommendation: ages 6 years and above. All children below 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Eco-Tale: Three Little Sheep Build A Better Future

11:45am -12:30pm

Join author Sarah Ang as she shares the story of three little sheep as they face their biggest enemy - Climate Change, and how they receive help from the most unlikely character, BB Wolf, in this retelling of a well-loved classic tale, with an environmental twist. Learn how little actions can help make a big difference and students will get the opportunity to explore how to take small actions and create huge impact.

This is a free activity with registration required.

Age Recommendation: ages 6 years and above. All children below 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Eco-Tale: The Emperor's New Gazillion Toys

3:00pm -4:00pm

Transform waste into wonder! Join author Janice Khoo for an interactive storytelling session where they will read their book, The Emperor's Gazillion New Toys, where students will learn about the impact of overconsumption. After the story, students will create their own toy using recycled materials*.

This is a free activity with registration required.

Age Recommendation: ages 6 years and above. All children below 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

*Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring some recycled materials from home.

By MRT: Mountbatten MRT Station (Circle Line) Exit B | Turn left upon exit, follow sheltered walkway (crossing the Mountbatten Road Bridge across the Geylang River) all the way to Goodman Arts Centre. After the gate, turn left, passing Block H towards Block E. Take the first staircase (near the vending machines) up to Level 3. Walk to the end of the corridor to Singapore Book Council Office and Training Room.
