Seed to Soul: Upcycle Edition
Event Information
About this Event
Fashion is one of the world's most wasteful industries, generating thousands of tonnes of unnecessary waste a year. Many things contribute to this - cheap, throwaway clothing that doesn't last. The culture of 'trends' that makes some of us feel like we need to discard items that are no longer 'stylish'. The luxury goods and high fashion industry, which destroys garments and goods which are out of 'season' to maximise their desirability. And the First World, More-is-Better, consumerist mentality.
Yet, we can't all dress in hemp and sackcloth, so what can we do to still indulge ourselves in looking good, while minimising our environmental impact? Find out in Seed to Soul : Upcycle Edition!

Cloop: Sindy Ong
Why we do what we do at Cloop.
Why we do what we do and what’s in it for you! Yin Ling and Sindy are the two faces behind Cloop - an initiative to provide sustainable fashion options to mainly women, entirely surrounding the concept of rescuing preloved, secondhand clothes to provide clothing circularity within the community. The fashion industry has many ugly sides - be it damaging the environment or ethical issues. The demand for fast fashion is proving detrimental. People bought 60% more garments in 2014 than in 2000, and only kept the clothes for half as long! It is estimated that 85% of all textiles are dumped each year. (Source: weforum) Join in for a quick chat and learn what Cloop is all about, the fashion-swapping trendsetters at Seed to Soul. Cloop is funded by OCBC cares, MCCY and Seastainable, and supported by Secondsguru. Follow their social media for updates. @Cloop.sg https://www.instagram.com/cloop.sg/

Selling preloved designer goods! 100% of funds go to the support of local artistes
Pasar Glamour is an annual pop-up event that sells pre-loved designer clothing, bags, shoes and accessories to encourage sustainable fashion consumption and to support the work of charitable organisations in Singapore. Its beneficiaries include women and children from disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as the Arts.
Since it’s inception in 2017, the event has grown to become one of the most anticipated pre-loved clothing sales of the year. Founded by local actresses, Janice Koh, Pam Oei and Petrina Kow, Pasar Glamour is a not-for-profit social enterprise run wholly by volunteers who work closely with clothing donors, many of whom are from the entertainment, media and fashion sectors.
This November, Pasar Glamour is delighted to be organising a special online sale to raise funds for one of Singapore's leading theatre companies, Pangdemonium!
We have curated a special edition of pre-loved branded bags, shoes and beauty essentials for this event. Follow @pasarglamour on Instagram to get the latest updates whenever we have new drops. We will be starting our online sale in end October and will be dropping new items daily. Buy them online via DM and you can pick up your purchases and many other gorgeous items at our special pop-up at Crane on Sunday, 8th November, 12- 5pm. This year, we are delighted to be collaborating with Crane as our venue partner.
All the proceeds from the sale will go towards enabling Pangdemonium to continue creating enlightening work in these challenging times.
