Sexy Intersections: Anti-Oppression and Sex Positivity

This class helps us all think about the many power dynamics that affect us when we interact in sex positive community. This is a core class in SPW for all of us wanting to learn more about how we show up/speak up/receive feedback from others when we share space together. It’s a good space for beginners who are eager to learn as well as for experienced community members who want more tools and techniques to navigate sexy spaces well.

We’ll think about our many identities and how they shape our expertise, and the areas where we need to learn and grow. We’ll spend time talking about the inevitable mistakes we make and the ways we hurt each other. Then we’ll walk through ways to better handle those hard times when we’ve done things that don’t align with who we think we are.

We’ll center race and gender in the exercises we work on together while learning more about how all aspects of oppression and privilege effect our sex positive interactions in community. We’ll encourage folks from all walks of life to work on perspective-taking from our privileges as well as our oppressions.

About Lady V

Lady V (she/her) is a spiritually & socioculturally driven sex-positive educator, community organizer & Professional Dominatrix. Prior, she served as the Program Manager for one of the few agencies in the world specializing in navigating sexuality & gender for people navigating intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Lady V has taught for conferences & sex positive venues across the US. She serves as an Advocacy Board Member for Sex Positive World & proudly helps facilitate their education as the Remote Education Coordinator. Lady V has also served the community by facilitating public health events.

She is an out, proud, & fierce-as-fire transwoman with a passion for empowering others. While hailing from Detroit, Michigan, she has settled in Salem, Oregon, where she serves as the majordomo for her leather family, the Atomic Army.

She hopes to inspire others to enjoy sex positivity from an authentic place, as well as embrace their spiritual place within sex positivity & find healing within it.

About Jamie Love

Jamie Love (She/they) is the executive director of Sex Positive World; Jamie Love has been leading sex positive community since 2018. They have stewarded four chapters of SPW through leadership transitions, allowing the local communities to thrive. They teach leadership skills, ethics in sex positive culture, and travel with workshops to spread sex positivity all over the world!

Jamie Love is polyamorous, an ethical slut, queer, and kinky, with a love of shibari/rope bondage. She leads discussion groups and classes on relationships of all sizes, orientations, and dynamics.
