As some countries start lifting the Coronavirus mobility restrictions, users are looking at their buildings differently with some of them wondering whether spaces such as the workspace are safe enough for them to return.

We have invited four industry leaders and experts to a panel conversation around the future of the office buildings and the workspace, now that we are about to enter the new normal.

This event is free and open to all audiences - with special mention to the Singapore commercial real estate industry.

After the panel, a shortlisted number of guests will be invited into small groups for a guided conversation on the topic (7:00pm - 8:00pm SGT). Space is limited, as the groups will be small. Join the lottery for a chance to join the discussion. Winners will be notified the day of the panel at 4:00pm SGT.

The four inspiring industry leaders joining the panel discussion are:

JACK NOONAN, Vice President, Asia Pacific, for the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). Based in Melbourne, Jack's role involves leading the technical support, market development and operations across Australia, New Zealand, and, most recently, South East Asia.

Prior to his time at IWBI, Jack was the Manager of Climate Change Programs at Sustainability Victoria, a government agency, where he developed and led the TAKE2 Climate Change Program and informed state climate policy. This followed six years working at a building science consultancy, where he held a number of leadership roles including the National Relationship and Marketing Manager, State Manager and Senior Consultant.

Jack holds Bachelor degrees in Science and Psychology, both from Monash University, as well as a Master of Business focused on the commercialization of science and emerging technology. In 2009, he was a winner of the National Australia Bank Science in Business award.

His areas of expertise include air and water quality, green buildings, sustainability rating tools, science commercialisation and climate policy. He is a WELL Accredited Professional, and a member of the International Society for Indoor Air Quality and the Green Building Council of Australia’s Future Green Leaders program. He is passionate about environmental justice and equity, as well as the health and education of communities. He also serves on the board of a local community organization focused on adult education and social inclusion.

WU XUCHAO, Head of JLL’s Energy and Sustainability Services (ESS) team across South and Southeast Asia. He leads a team of subject matter experts across the region to provide sustainability solutions for JLL’s clients, particularly in the following areas: Green Building Certification, Energy Management, and Workplace Health and Wellbeing. The ESS team is comprised of experts from the fields of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Architecture and Design, and Renewable Energy, and they are responsible for servicing some of the most sustainable and ambitious organizations from around the world.

Xuchao has held a few other roles prior to the current one, including JLL’s Head of ESS for Greater China, Senior Engineer for Arup Consultants, and also as a researcher at the National University of Singapore, developing Singapore’s energy benchmarks for commercial buildings.

DAVID ROBINSON, Sustainability Team Lead at Mott MacDonald. David is an experienced mechanical/environmental design engineer and sustainability consultant with international experience across key markets including Europe, Middle East, China and Southeast Asia. David as a WELL AP, BREEAM AP and Green Mark Manager has significant experience in building services engineering design, masterplanning and climate change adaptation & resilience. Much of his recent work has been focused on the delivery of human centric buildings and urban environments.

The event is hosted and moderated by KAREN MAHROUS, Director at CodeGreen Solutions, real estate sustainability consultancy in New York City. Karen works to ensure that our buildings are better for both the planet and the well-being of the people inside them and is has recently launched her sustainability podcast RedSkies.
