#SGSTEM Talk & Trivia: Dr Andie Ang — Tree Climbing for Wildlife Monitoring
Event Information
About this Event
Hello, everyone! #SGSTEM talk & trivia is a web-based science- and environment-leaning webinar and trivia that makes keeping in touch with this part of the Singapore community a breeze.
Field observations and molecular tools are regularly used to study wildlife. Camera traps have also been deployed to monitor species in their habitat. For over a year, the Raffles' Banded Langur Working Group has installed camera traps on trees within Central Catchment Nature Reserve to complement field studies on the critically endangered primate. Dr Andie Ang will share some interesting findings and the challenges and fun behind tree climbing for arboreal camera trapping.
Held fortnightly, each of these sessions will feature a local STEM researcher, practitioner or educator who will present a short talk about their work. This will be followed by a quick & simple trivia to keep everyone on their toes, and raise funds for local environmental causes.
We hope to see you there!
