📑 Nature for Climate for You: Webinar with Associate Professor Alberto Salvo

We’re excited to invite you to Nature for Climate for You — a series of engaging events spotlighting scientists, practitioners, and advocates working at the crossroads of nature and climate.

Join us for our second webinar in this new programme, by Associate Professor Alberto Salvo, an environmental economist and behavioural social scientist at the National University of Singapore, who will explore the influential “license” given to consumers and citizens, and reframe personal action as a powerful complement to systemic change.

🛝 About the Webinar

SHOULD (SOME) INDIVIDUALS ALSO UNDERSTAND AND CHART THEIR PATH TO NET ZERO?

Governments and firms are increasingly accounting for their greenhouse-gas emissions, but the hundreds of millions of affluent individuals who shape supply chains and influence policy are often left out of the conversation. This session will explore:

  • How individual actions, especially in transport and food consumption, affect carbon emissions
  • Which lifestyle choices meaningfully reduce environmental harm and offer health and nutrition benefits
  • How positive framing and public education can empower individuals as climate citizens
  • How shifts in individual behaviour can collectively drive climate progress and ease climate anxiety

👨🏼‍🎓 About the Speaker

Alberto holds a Dean’s Chair award in the Department of Economics at the NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. He also serves on the University Sustainability and Climate Action Council and is the Lead Principal Investigator in the Social Sciences at the Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein. Beyond NUS, he is co-editor of the Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists and a member of the editorial council at the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management.
