Get introduced to a challenging yet satisfying art form this Christmas! Learn the basics of silk painting featuring the serti technique, how to mix colours, apply and blend them onto silk.
Painting on silk is unlike painting on paper or wood as silk is made from weaving fibres and they absorb pigments very rapidly.
You will get to paint on a 55 by 55 cm 100% silk neckerchief. We chose silk charmeuse (the Ferrari of silks) for its soft and luxurious hand feel, perfect for wrapping around the delicate skin on your neck. You can also frame it up and create a beautiful wall hanging art.
Note:
Please email us at hello@withautumn.com your prepared designs or line drawings in a square format 2 days before the workshop commence. Hand drawn designs like flowers, organic shapes, handwriting or animals are best recommended for beginners. Avoid large solid colour blocks and straight lines.
If no design was given, you will be choose from existing designs during the workshop.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event? MRT stations nearby – Bendeemeer (3 mins walk) , Lavender Station (8 mins walk) For those who drive, you may park at Vanguard Campus or at CT HUB located opposite.
What can I bring into the event? Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting dyes on.

What's the refund policy? Once payment is made, we do not accept any cancellations or do refunds. In an event when you cannot make it for the workshop, you may transfer it to your friend. Simply forward the Eventbrite ticket to them, we will use that as attendance tracking.

I am Autumn, a designer and chef-by-training. With my love for making beautiful things and delicious food, I've decided to marry the two by harvesting colours from edibles and botanicals, and design. I'm on a journey to turn these materials into natural dyes for textiles and paper, to be made into meaningful goods later.
I am in search of and harvesting local plants and food remnants to make natural dyes. This process is more than just adding colour to a white piece of cloth or paper: It is a mindful choice I made hoping to bring design closer to nature by increasing the sustainability of the process, extending the usable life of ingredients, educating and raising greater awareness for Mother Nature.
