Life's most profound moments often manifest through the simplest expressions—the power of voice, community, and shared intention coming together. On April 10th, we invite you to join the founders of the Sahaja Collective during their rare visit to Singapore. Immerse yourself in the ancient practice of Bhajans—devotional songs that gently open the Heart and quiet the Mind.

The Gift of Bhajans

Bhajans and Kirtans are more than just beautiful music—they're a direct pathway to experiencing what your yoga practice has been guiding you toward. As you already know the peace that comes from aligning breath and movement on your mat, Bhajans offer a similar harmony through sound and community.

When we sing together, something remarkable happens:

  1. The Breath regulates and stress dissolves
  2. The Mind settles into the present moment
  3. The Heart opens to greater joy and connection

No musical experience is needed—just your presence and willingness to participate at whatever level feels comfortable.

Your Guides: Kirsten and Devdas

Priyan's Note: "My own yoga journey has been profoundly shaped by these two remarkable teachers. Kirsten and Devdas have been my guiding lights and most cherished mentors, transforming not just my practice but my entire understanding of yoga's depth. Their teachings continue to inspire every class I share with you. When they mentioned a brief transit through Singapore, I was overjoyed at the rare chance to welcome them to our space and introduce them to our beautiful community. This evening truly represents the coming together of two parts of my heart—my teachers and my students—in one sacred space. It means the world to me to share their wisdom with you."

Kirsten and Devdas believe that life is meant to be fulfilling, joyful, and even magical—the same calling that brings us all to our yoga mats. Through their own experience and over two decades of combined practice and teaching, they know that yoga extends far beyond postures to become a profound process of aligning with life's inherent intelligence.

As founders of Sahaja Collective, they are dedicated to reviving essential teachings on breath as the key that unlocks yoga's extraordinary potential. Their approach harmonizes the energetic system, allowing the body, nervous system, and emotional layers to naturally shift into greater well-being.

Having guided thousands of students worldwide through in-person and online teachings, they bring authentic wisdom, warmth, and accessibility to every gathering. This extraordinarily rare visit to Singapore offers our community a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the teachings that form the foundation of our school's approach.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be able to sing well to participate?

Not at all! Bhajans are about heart-centered participation, not performance. All voices blend together in community.

I'm not familiar with bhajans or kirtan. Will I feel out of place?

This gathering is specifically designed to welcome newcomers. Kirsten and Devdas create an inclusive space where everyone can participate comfortably.

What should I wear?

Come in comfortable clothing.

Will there be seating?

We'll provide floor seating with cushions. We have a bench if you have difficulty sitting on the floor.

How is this different from my regular yoga practice?

While asana practice works primarily with the body and breath, bhajans offer a complementary practice that works directly with the heart through sound. Many practitioners find it deepens their overall yoga experience by adding another dimension of connection.
