Forget what you think you know about Singapore’s clean and pristine reputation. Once a very different kind of city, a fledgling port that went to the brink of disaster, the Singapore River’s story is the most dramatic before-and-after in the country’s history.

Walk through time and step into the lives of our immigrants, colonial officers and early leaders to uncover the twists and turns that powered a grand ambition into the breathtaking skyline of modern Singapore.

Join us in this walk through the history of our mother river.
