Join us for a hands-on workshop where you will learn to make wagashi (和菓子) which are traditional Japanese confections crafted to reflect the beauty of nature and the changing seasons. They are known for their delicate beauty, seasonal themes, and the use of natural ingredients like sweet bean paste and rice flour. They are usually paired with matcha in japanese tea ceremonies. In this workshop, you will be guided on techniques such as shaping nerikiri 練り切り(a type of artistic wagashi) and colouring sweets that reflect Japanese aesthetics and seasonal motifs.
