Target audience: Entrepreneurs, business partners, owners, directors and employees in small and medium-sized enterprises in any industry, as well as technology vendors, accountants, finance professionals and SMPs serving the SME business community should attend this session.

Lead Trainers

Aleksandra Zaronina-Kirillova is head of SME professional insights at ACCA. She develops research and advises on policy issues for ACCA related to SME/SMP (Small and Medium Enterprise / Small and Medium Practices). Having previously worked for SMEs in pharmaceutical, transport and hospitality sectors, Aleksandra has hands on understanding of the needs and realities of the SME world.

Aleksandra has a strong international record and understanding of emerging markets. Prior to joining ACCA, Aleksandra dealt with various international organisations including the UN and regional integration projects of E&Y. As part of her work, she represented the sector at high level international events and developed joint research with Oxford Economics, Organisation of American States, UNECE, etc.

Aleksandra holds MA in Development Studies from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva.

Aaron is the Head of Policy and Technical at ACCA Maritime Southeast Asia. He promotes the sharing of ACCA Professional Insights and his areas of interest include the development of SMPs, digital technology, improving audit quality, improving corporate reporting, business resilience and sustainability, and analysing business outlook and government policies impacting the accountancy profession. Aaron believes in sharing knowledge widely and he designed the framework for SMP100 – a community for SMPs in Malaysia that supports the professional development of each other.


SMEs represent about 90% of businesses and more than 50% of employment worldwide and global environmental and social challenges can only be addressed appropriately with SME sector fully involved. Sustainable transformation has therefore become an imperative.
