Songbird

Songbirds do not sing to please. They sing, simply because they are alive!

The story revolves around the retired protagonist who was gifted a songbird to deal with his boredom. Having lost his wife, his business, and now his adult children who moved out, the protagonist tries to find solace in this songbird - in getting it to sing.

Through the interactions with this songbird, and his two children, the audience is drawn into his journey of self-discovery and renewed purpose. Just like the songbird, we are all created to sing - to sing to our Creator. This play makes reference to the noises of the world that distract us from realizing our true destiny.
