About the Programme
This workshop will give participants a comprehensive overview of English phonology. Participants will be introduced to the International Phonetic Alphabet for English and taught strategies to master the various phonological features of English to enhance their pronunciation, articulation, fluency and clarity.
They will have practices on word and sentence stresses, as well as how to use linking sounds and weak forms to speak more fluently. Participants will also learn ways to improve their speech rhythm and intonation for better understanding.
This is a highly interactive workshop and participants can expect a significant amount of speech practice.
About the Trainer
Shamus Choy specialises in teaching General English, Academic English and IELTS preparatory courses to adult learners, as well as conducting communication workshops, such as business writing and CV writing courses. Shamus holds a MA (Applied Linguistics), BA (Mass Communications), Cambridge CELTA, DACE and ACTA.
