FAQs
1. What is the dress code?
Smart casual. Please dress modestly and in a way that reflects the respectful tone of the event.
2. What does the $50 ticket include?
Your ticket covers a light refreshments from Mahmud’s Tandoor, venue rental, and the full experience of a thoughtfully facilitated matchmaking event. This includes guided rotations, curated conversation prompts to help you connect naturally, and a post-event matching process to help follow up on mutual interest in a respectful and private manner.
3. How does the speed dating format work?
Participants will engage in short, timed conversations with different individuals throughout the session. Conversation prompts will be provided to help you get to know one another beyond surface-level questions.
4. Will there be any chaperones or organisers present?
Yes. Members of the organising team will be present throughout the event to facilitate and ensure a respectful, comfortable environment for everyone. Due to limited space, our team will also act as chaperones should you need support or prefer to be accompanied during conversations.
5. What if I’m shy or introverted?
We get it – starting conversations can be hard. Our friendly hosts and provided prompts will help break the ice so you can relax and enjoy the process.
6. Can I bring a friend?
This is a singles-only event with limited slots, so each attendee must register individually.
7. How will post-event follow-up or matches work?
During the speed dating session, you’ll be asked to fill in a short matching form after each conversation. This helps you indicate discreetly whether you’d like to get to know someone better. If there’s mutual interest, we’ll follow up with both parties after the event to facilitate the connection. So the matching process happens throughout the session — not just at the end!
8. Is there a refund policy?
Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferable to another eligible participant with prior notice.
9. What do you mean by “Islamic principles”?
We aim to create an environment that’s respectful, sincere, and aligned with Muslim values. That means encouraging modesty in how we dress and speak, being honest about our intentions, and treating each other with kindness and respect. It’s about creating a space where everyone feels comfortable and interactions are guided with purpose.
