Take a journey down memory lane as we cherish the experiences, relationships and life lessons that shaped us. Get a glimpse into the kaleidoscope of life through 8 captivating stories:

1. “Bidadari, the Cemetery": Brace yourself for an unforgettable experience as we unravel the mysteries of this sacred place.
2. “Growing Up with Grandfather": From bedtime stories to timeless wisdom, discover the priceless treasures of bonding with family.
3. “One Christmas Night in December": Dive into the magic of the holiday season and cherish the moments that warm our hearts.
4. “Grandma, My Role Model": Celebrate the guiding light in one’s life and the lessons learned from her unconditional love.
5. “The Cannot Forget Book": Explore the pages of a story that etched itself into one’s memory.
6. “An Unpleasant Challenge": Sometimes life throws curveballs, how we navigate them defines our strength and resilience.
7. “The Men in My Life": Reflect on the influences, support, and love of the remarkable men who shaped one’s journey.
8. “An Unforgettable Experience": A rollercoaster ride of emotions as we delve into moments that leave an indelible mark on our souls.

About StoryingSeniors:
Made up of seniors who are passionate about storytelling, StoryingSeniors helps its members discover new and creative ways to get their stories heard. Led by experienced storyteller Wong Swee Yean, discover your own voice and listen to the heartfelt and amusing stories from other seniors at their monthly sessions.

About the Facilitators:
Our facilitators, Wong Swee Yean, Mabel Lee and Anamika Bhati are experienced professional oral storytellers who have conducted workshops and performed stories to public audiences. They will prepare story prompts and equip everyone with public speaking skills in order to speak our stories with confidence.

  • All participants are required to register for a ticket. Each ticket admits 1 person only. Please present your ticket when you enter the library and the event venue. 
  • Arrive 10 mins before the session commences. Seats of late attendees may be given to those in the waitlist. 
  • NLB reserves the right to deny entry to participants who do not abide by the ground rules. 
  • Photographs and videos will be taken during the session and images captured may be used for publicity purposes.
