Stranger Encounters presents: MORNING TEA with Aya
Aya is a tea enthusiast who carries with her the spirit of Shirakawa-cha — a rare tea grown in the quiet town of Shirakawa-cho, Gifu, which she now calls her second home.
Living among the community there, Aya witnessed both the dedication poured into every harvest and the struggles of a craft facing slowing demand. Her response was simple but profound: to share this tea with the world and give back to the people who nurtured it.
Through her tea workshops, Aya builds a bridge between Shirakawa-cho and Singapore. With gentle guidance, she invites you into the art of brewing Japanese tea — not as a rushed ritual, but as a slow unfolding. Each step becomes a moment to pause, breathe, and savour.
Over cups of Shirakawa-cha, conversations flow more softly, connections deepen more naturally. Come sit, sip, and find mindfulness in the steam that rises from the leaf.
