Industry Dialogue: Carbon & Plastic Pollution in the Maritime Industry

Industry Dialogue: Carbon & Plastic Pollution in the Maritime Industry

By Seven Clean Seas

Overview

Join Singapore’s maritime leaders to discuss how to tackle twin existential challenges for ocean health plastic pollution & carbon emissions

The Event

Plastic pollution and carbon emissions pose twin existential challenges for ocean health and sustainable maritime development. Every year, around 11 million tonnes of plastic enter the ocean, while the shipping sector emits over 800 million tonnes of CO₂ annually, accounting for roughly 2 to 3 per cent of global anthropogenic emissions. Together, these pressures demand integrated action across the maritime value chain.

Asyad Shipping is convening a Maritime Industry Dialogue to Tackle Plastic and Carbon Pollution, bringing together Singapore’s leading maritime stakeholders to present recent developments and explore through open dialogue collective pathways to meet the IMO’s 2030 plastic target and its deep decarbonisation ambitions.

Hear industry leaders present their sustainability initiatives and participate in a hands-on panel discussion with experts. Participants are encouraged to explore the challenges, innovations, and collaborative actions needed to help the industry meet the IMO 2030 Plastic Policy and increase efforts to decarbonise the industry to move toward a cleaner future for our oceans.
