As part of Battlebox’s Victory over Japan commemorations, explore the daily life of a WWII soldier through authentic artefacts and faithful replicas from Alvin’s Bunker. Discover the rations they carried, the hygiene kits they used, and the inventive ways they coped in the field – all brought to life with gripping stories and real-world examples.

Discover how military rations and hygiene gear evolved across different armies and eras, offering a rare chance to connect with the past in a truly tangible way.

Alvin’s Bunker has been a WWII Japanese and British army living history group since 2002.

Suitable for the whole family. Recommended for ages 7 and above. Tickets include Basic Experience Admission to the Battlebox on the same day.

Is the Battlebox wheelchair friendly?

Due to the original nature of the Battlebox, the bunker is not designed to be wheelchair accessible. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Are there restroom facilities in the bunker?

There are no restrooms in the Battlebox. The nearest facility is at Fort Canning Centre which is a quick 1 minute walk from the Visitor Centre.

Can I bring my pet into Battlebox?

Due to safety and hygiene reasons, pets are not allowed into the Battlebox.
