In June 2022, the iconic Singapore music venue Blu Jaz reopened its live music program with the Jazz Loft, located on the 3rd floor of it’s premises at Bali Lane.The mission of this new space, is to showcase jazz, and improvisation, as an evolving art form, rather than a museum-piece, presenting those artists, both local and international, that are part of the forward motion, and artistic development of the music.

Experience an exhilarating night filled with crossovers and lively jazz standards infused with unique Asian flavors. Embrace the good, happy, and positive vibes! Join the celebration on May 24 at The Jazz Loft.Filipino bassist Johnny Gaerlan, currently residing in Singapore, coordinated the session. Having previously performed with Christian and Rick in Manila, Johnny was well-prepared for the event. He is experienced in various jazz environments and has been part of numerous jazz periods in the Philippines.Rosanna Gaerlan, a University of the Philippines Concert Chorus alumna, holds a journalism degree. She initially worked as a business reporter at Businessday Corporation before transitioning into international travel as a musician. Currently, she manages her roles at the National University of Singapore alongside her music career. Apart from music and journalism, she enjoys farming and exploring new places.Arnold Pontoh, a pianist, composer, and educator, has developed a unique style of jazz composition and performance through years in Jakarta. After gaining valuable experience in New York City, he has reached a new level of maturity and creativity as a resident of Singapore.Rafaee Mahmood, a drummer in The Jazz Djogets, a band blending regional and international music with jazz elements. Recently, the 32-year-old participated in Drum-Off Global 2019, where he and a fellow musician reached the finals.
