Swiss wine Masterclass with Head Sommelier of 3* Michelin star restaurant
Overview
The theme of this Masterclass is 'discover the Chasselas', a grape variety originated in the Lake Geneva region with the first written mention dating 1612.
It produces a full, dry and fruity white wine, highly versatile for food pairing with for example fish, seafood, white meats and poultry.
The Chasselas is, together with the Pinot Noir, the main grape variety grown in Switzerland with each making up 24% of all the vineyards.
M. Baptiste Tomasi will lead the tasting of 8 different white wines, all made with Chasselas grapes from various vineyards around Lake Geneva, including the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site Lavaux.
The selection includes:
- Domaine Henri Cruchon « Mont de Vaux »
- Domaine du Daley « Le Chasselas Réserve »
- Domaine du Daley « Le Chasselas Tradition »
- Château Maison Blanche « Chasselas Grand Cru »
- Domaine la Colombe « Bayel » Grand Cru
