Overview

An aerial show for babies and their carers

Take Flight is an original early years aerial theatre show for 0-2 year

olds and their grown ups. Nestle in with us for a gorgeous aerial theatre

experience, a captivating, multi-sensory, interactive show that ignites the

imagination and curiosity of babies.

You’ll be gently welcomed into the nest by a ukelele playing mumma bird whose

waiting excitedly for her baby to hatch. Her newborn brings into the world

everything that babies do- hunger, laughter, wind and a whole load of energy

leaving the mumma frazzled and exhausted. But in finally seeing her baby take

flight, her heart soars with pride.

“I was particularly touched by the inclusion of the parent's experience in the show - I knew it would be entertaining for babies, it never occurred to me that it would be representative of what we're all going through” (Audience member)

Afterwards everyone is invited into the space with the performers for the stay and

play session where the babies can touch, play and explore the set and props,

including having a swing in the silks.

We worked closely with development psychologist Dr Valentina Sclafani from

Lincoln University to ensure the content is positive for babies in terms of

neurological & motor skills development & encourage a strong connection & bond

between babies and their grown ups.

Co-created with Circus Hub, and

supported by Curve Leicester, Arts
