You are reading this message courtesy of people who thought communication can be better. These pioneers said pigeons taking letters is, well, hardly a robust or fast way to communicate. Some looked at messengers on foot or messengers on horses, and they said humanity could do better. Over time humanity did build communication systems that were once only the imagination of a lone scientist, fiction writer or philosopher.
And that is perhaps one of our greatest powers! We look at the world not just to observe what is, but to also ask what if? We create mental worlds or scenarios that we want to exist. This is especially necessary in times when the present world state is not what we desire. Through the power to reimagine our lives and relationship with the environment, we have overcome adversities and built new systems, tools, and models of the world that then enabled us to thrive. We are not merely slaves to how things are.
At TEDxNTU 2020 we bring you individuals who, though no more special than you are, through their experiences may remind you of the power you have to reimagine and reshape your own as well as our collective world.

Kitchen Reimagined
Visually challenged individuals have a hard time at some tasks that we take for granted in our day-to-day lives. At TEDxNTU 2020, we are providing an opportunity for our audience to empathise through a “Cooking in the Dark Workshop”. Participants will be blindfolded and given instructions to put together a dish from a simple recipe. In keeping with the theme of “A World Reimagined”, the goal is to showcase a reimagined kitchen setup aimed at easing the lives of visually challenged cooks.
Recipes Reimagined
We eat so often that it becomes mere routine. Break free of your routine with this workshop where you turn cooking and eating into an imaginative experience. At this workshop, open for enthusiasts at all levels of proficiency, you will learn new and innovative ways to use conventional everyday ingredients and kitchen tools. Cook something different and walk out with your lunch for TEDxNTU 2020!

Dinner
Dinner will be served to guests post event at 7:00 PM. Attendees are requested to please collect their dinner and move to the nearest public seating area to consume.
