- Protein Processing - Watch fermentation in action, explore how proteins change texture and flavour, and try the yeast-balloon experiment.
- Food Texturing - Experience 3D food printing and hands-on texture tests showing how structure shapes mouthfeel.
- Sensory Analysis - Play a flavour wheel game with sniffing sticks to explore the aromas behind plant-based foods.
- Food Safety - Learn how scientists test novel foods for quality and safety — from ingredient checks to microbial control.
- Health & Gut Microbiome - Make your own bacteria in a fun craft, play a vitamin quiz, and see how microbes in a live fermenter support a healthy gut.
- Sustainability Assessment – Play an interactive game comparing the nutrition and environmental impact of food choices.
About the Event
Hosted by TUMCREATE under the Proteins4Singapore programme and funded by the National Research Foundation (NRF), this public science outreach event is organised in collaboration with NTU, SIT, and A*STAR, with support from partners including the Singapore Food Agency (SFA).
