Explore the creative process of Print-Making using various techniques.

About this Event

Printmaking is an art technique and creative process of creating visual outcomes using an indirect method of “drawing” or image transfer. In this course, participants will be introduced to various printmaking techniques.They will be encouraged to combine and experiment with the techniques to create interesting artworks.

Participants will learn 2-dimensional prints on paper and eventually transform their artwork into functional designs or gifts.


Dates : Oct 29, Nov 5, 12, 19, 26, Dec 3, 10,17 (Thurs)

Time: 2pm - 4pm

Course fee:

$280 | $56 for seniors eligible for National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy*

#Early bird price $54 for seniors.

*NSA subsidy is for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above.

**Minimum 10 students to start class

Course fee may be offset by ^SkillsFuture Credit (SFC). First, course participants are to make payment for the course through Brahm Centre Eventbrite page, followed by claim with SFC. Brahm Centre will reimburse the amount that is successfully claim upon receipt of the funds from SFC. More details on SFC will be provided upon registration.

Lesson 1

Introduction of various printmaking technique

- Relief printing

- Intaglio

- In this class, we will learn to create images and prints from raw materials gathered from our surroundings.

Lesson 2

Introduction to Relief Print

- Negative & Positive

Lesson 3

Printing technique

- Printing of image from Lesson 2

- Applying ink on surface and transferring print onto paper

Lesson 4

Paper Engraving

Lesson 5

Paper Stencil

- Simplified screen printing

- Learning to make homemade stencils

Lesson 6

Chin Colle (Collage)

Lesson 7

Ink Transfer

Lesson 8

Combination of techniques to make a card for Christmas

Materials provided: 

- Ball Stylus

- Black block printing ink

- Flattener

- Cartridge Paper

- Tracing paper

- Plastic Roller

- PVC sheet

- Oil Painting Brush

* Participants are encouraged to bring their own newspaper and cloth for their own usage.


  • Please note that payments for courses are non-refundable.
  • Do ensure that you are able to attend the first session of the course before registering for the course as you will not be allowed to continue with the course should you miss the first session.
  • Request for transfers or make up-classes for selected mindfulness courses are subjected to availability and fees of $30 for transfers and $10 for make-up are applicable.

Trainer Profile:

Chua Chon Hee is a local artist who works extensively with various mediums. Chon Hee graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1982 and she has been teaching in fine arts for many years.

In recent years, she focuses most of her time on artistic creations and mediums such as ceramics and prints. Most of her artworks are inspired by nature. She expresses her art with originality as well as exploration in a contemporary way.

Chon Hee held a solo exhibition and many group exhibitions locally and overseas. Her artworks can be seen in many hotels, corporations and also kept by various private collectors.
