Surrounded by tall clear skyscrapers in the heart of the Central Business District, Yueh Hai Ching Temple (粤海清庙) is one of Singapore’s oldest Chinese temples. Fondly known as Wak Hai Cheng Bio in Teochew, the temple is the living national monument and testimony to the contributions of Teochew Chinese pioneers who arrived in Singapore shortly after the arrival of the British in 1819.
