 The Cultural Subconscious and its Impact on Brands

Marketers around the world constantly try to understand the consumer in deeper and more intimate ways. Wei Fen is an expert in this new and exciting domain. She will talk about the cultural shift in consciousness within the world of brands, and how a combination of historical and contemporary data points can map a new blueprint of the consumer world to create new marketing opportunities and ways of imagining brand strategy. 


Wei Fen Lee is a business anthropologist at Quantum Consumer Solutions where she uses traditional, visual, and digital ethnography as a discipline to uncover human insights on consumer culture for brands. 


As an ethnographer, she has used research and writing on South and Southeast Asian communities to create recommendations for both the private and public sector, with a focus on understanding human lived experiences and behavioural change. 


Wei Fen is trained in South Asian Studies, English Literature, and Anthropology, and holds a Bachelors and Masters of Philosophy from the National University of Singapore. She has written about culture for a wide range of publications, such as Open Magazine, The Business Times, and Esquire Singapore.

Please note this is not a Google or Google sponsored event. Google has kindly offered their space to host this event. Please come early and allow at least 15 minutes for security procedures. Doors will open at 7 pm and the event will start at 7.30pm prompt. Thank you for your cooperation in being on time.
