Common Weal Angus is hosting a screening of The Divide - a ground breaking film that raises awareness of the effects of the ever growing wealth gap.

After the screening - for those that are interested - we will have a discussion around the film and actions we might want to take - as individuals and as Common Weal Angus.

Beverages and food are available at the Plough Inn to fuel our discussions.

The screening will be free with a suggested donation to help meet the costs of the screening (£5 waged and £3 unwaged)

The Divide is inspired by the critically-acclaimed, best selling book "The Spirit Level" by Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett. It tells the story of 7 individuals striving for a better life in mordern day US and UK - where the top 0.1% owns as much wealth as the bottom 90%. By plotting these tales together, we uncover how every aspect of our lives is controlled by one factor: the size of the gap between rich and poor.
