Speaker Profiles:


Allan Soo

Allan Soo is a member of the RICS and is a valuer with a special focus on research, design, management and investment advisory on commercial assets. He advises REITs and funds on real estate portfolios including on AEI works, repositioning and acquisition of retail malls.


Clement Chen

Clement is the CEO of Sunway REIT, the second largest REIT in Malaysia by AUM with almost RM10 billion of assets. Prior to joining Sunway REIT in 2023, Clement was Director of Business Development at Sunway Property where he acquired landbank with potential GDV of over RM10 billion during his tenure. Clement has 20 years of experience in financial management, corporate finance, investment structuring and real estate. His latest hobby is to visit Malaysia’s many retail malls and be fascinated by the retailers creativity.


Alan Tan

Alan Tan is the Group Chief Economist at Affin Bank, where his main responsibilities are to provide reports on macroeconomic analysis and forecasting, as well as regular presentations on the Malaysian economy for ABB senior management and institutional clients. He is frequently quoted in national newspapers and publications, as well as frequent invited speaker at forums and conferences in Malaysia. He started his career as an economist with RHB Research Institute Sdn Bhd from 1991 to 1998. From 1999 to 2007, Alan worked as a Research Manager at Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Bhd, the country’s national asset management company, and later at Prokhas Sdn Bhd, a company wholly owned by the Ministry of Finance, Malaysia. Alan has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA) and Master’s degree in Economics (MA) from the University of Memphis, USA.


Datuk Christopher Martin Boyd

Datuk Chris is a Registered Valuer and a Fellow of the RICS and the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia. He started his professional career in Malaysia as a partner of Jones Lang Wootton in 1974. After serving as Director of Jones Lang Wootton Singapore in the early Eighties, he returned to Malaysia and set up Knight Frank Malaysia until 1995 when he was appointed Managing Director of MUI Properties Bhd. He returned to private practice in 2001 and was Executive Chairman of Savills Malaysia until retirement in 2020. He now divides his time between Sunway REIT, his practice Chris Boyd Property Consultants, and various NGOs and charitable organisations.
