Thugshop Presents – A Friend of Marcus + Vel

Closing off our April is a double-billing consisting of France’s Vel and Australia's A Friend of Marcus

The Moroccan-born, Paris-based DJ and producer is set to make her return to our cages with an all-nighter after a year away. Vel’s blend of powerful and graceful selections filled our redroom the last time out, and we’re expecting nothing less time round either.

A resident at Lyon’s Le Sucre, Vel is also a regular fixture across Europe and beyond – orchestrating dancefloors at the likes of Amsterdam’s Lofi, New York’s Basement, and London’s E1 into mayhem.

Part of Mama Told Ya’s iconic roster, she released her debut album entitled ‘There is always a solution’ under its label. She’s also released on labels such as Unusual Records, XX LAB, and Terenor Records.

A Friend of Marcus is returning to ours too – this time however, he’s taking the reins Upstairs. The Sydney-based act is stepping in with over 2 decades of dancefloor-smashing experience with him, whilst also working with gigantic names within the circuit in Dixon, Ben Klock, and Pete Tong.

He’s played all across the globe, headlining clubs such as Sao Paulo’s D-Edge, Tokyo’s Womb, Phuket’s Café del Mar, and Melbourne’s Wool Store. Just as prolific inside the studio, A Friend of Marcus has released records on labels like Natura Sonoris, Last Night on Earth, Blaufield, and Renaissance. Opening the floor will be Thugshop resident Boon Shao.
