We’re back with another edition of Never Tooo Loud.

For this round, we welcome Toru Ikemoto, a mainstay of Japan’s underground techno scene, known for his stripped-back, high-pressure sets characterised by minimal, rolling techno laced with textural elements and rich atmospheres. With releases on labels like Monoid and support from the likes of Richie Hawtin, Hito, and Joseph Capriati, Toru’s tracks are built for dark rooms and long nights.

His journey spans two decades, from founding Osaka/Tokyo party crew SiNE to launching his own artist school yell0w — a space for pushing new ideas and shaping the next wave of Japanese electronic artists.

Fresh off his recent Australia tour, including a heavy set at Strawberry Fields, Toru lands at Headquarters to go deep, just the kind of focused, physical techno that Never Tooo Loud was made for.

Opening the cage is VAIBS, Unmute/Thugshop resident setting the tone early with raw, tightly wound grooves.

Upstairs, we hand the reins to DEZ and POH (5210PM); expect a shifting palette of house, breaks, and leftfield sounds to keep the upstairs floor moving from open to close.

Never Tooo Loud is a monthly night built around intensity, detail, and sonic depth, a space for artists who explore the edges of contemporary Techno. Curated by Thugshop and Unmute, the series invites focused listening and inclusive dancefloor experiences.
