Thugshop x Unmute Presents: Never Tooo Loud with Mari Sakurai

Our first collaborative nighter with our homies Unmute kicks off on the 17th of January with Mari Sakurai.

A veteran of the Tokyo scene, Mari Sakurai is celebrated for her free-spirited defiance of genre and style. But no matter where she steers, the result remains the same – a driving, infectious energy that keeps the room in a constant state of flux.

Deeply rooted within Tokyo’s scene, she regularly plays at its institutions such as Mitsuki, VENT, and WOMB. But her tours have brought her behind the decks of hotspots across the world like Berlin’s Berghain, Shanghai’s POTENT, and Tbilisi’s Bassiani.

When she’s not delivering ferocious selections, Mari Sakurai co-organises AFTER LIFE, “a Tokyo-based techno event series for self-release and becoming, moment by moment.”

Supporting her on the night is Thugshop’s Vaibs @vaibs.sri, while 3MZY and DEZ take control Upstairs.
