Tink Tank Python Turtle Workshop (Age 10-13)

Kodecoon was founded with the mission to expose students todigital literacyandcomputational skillsto prepare them for the fast-changing world of technology. For the past four years, Kodecoon has been providing top-notch technology courses to equip every student with the relevant skills toadaptto the volatile, uncertain, changing and ambiguous (VUCA) world, totransformthem into leaders with the right mindset and confidence in creatingbreakthroughsin their own areas of interest.-With curriculum to provide students with avenues for self-exploration, Kodecoon’s goal is to equip every student with the knowledge and skills to transform their ideas into reality with code. Adopting a student-centred approach in our classroom setting that allows the facilitation of a proactive learning environment, our students are able to effectively learn through the aid of active class discussion and apply programming concepts to create fully functional projects.

Python Turtle strives to provide the lowest-threshold way to learn software development in the Python programming language. Your young coders will command an interactive Python shell and use Python functions to move a turtle displayed on the screen. Young coders will learn how to move the turtle program to create geometric shape and a simple game in an easy to understand and fun way.
We will also create a simple game where players are in control of a spaceship inside of an arena of unknown origin.  Trapped inside the arena are mysterious alien orbs that fly around at random.  The player's job is to fly around and collect as many of the orbs as possible. When an orb is touched, it disappears and reappears at a random position in the arena. The controls are simple, the left arrow key rotates the ship left, the right arrow key rotates the ship right, and the up key accelerates

Tink Tank was founded on the mission to expose children to the world of computer programming and through that, empower them with logical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills. In today’s digital world, programming language is the new literacy. Rather than showing your children how a computer works, we will teach them how to make a computer work for them. We want every child we teach to have fun with coding and learn to be creators and change makers, rather than passive consumers of technology.
