About the Speakers:

Philip Lee Kwang Ngee is currently an Assistant Director and Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering (S0E) overseeing Continuing Education and Training (CET) & Industry. He obtained his Masters of Science, Precision Engineering in 2011 from Nanyang Technological University. He started his career as a process Engineer in optical disk manufacturing. He joined Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology, (A*Star) in 2007 as a Research Engineer where he oversaw optical injection moulding processes as well as plastic composites processes, including Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) and Light RTM. In 2010, he joined NP and managed manufacturing related modules and equipment as a senior manager. He was also involved in managing and teaching part time modules in Diploma in Engineering as well as WSH qualifications.

Dr Chua Kuang Chua is currently a Senior Lecturer in the SOE. At present, he is the Cluster Lead for Medtech Cluster of SoE. He obtained his doctorate degree in biosignal processing in 2010 from Queensland University of Technology Australia. His research interests include digital signal processing, non-linear biosignal processing, artificial intelligence and microcontroller embedded system. He has involved in a number of the funded projects such as “Early stage of breast cancer diagnosis using mammograms”, “Patient-sensing Automated System to Speed up Lower-limb Rehabilitation”, “A non-invasive tool to evaluate tear evaporation rate for dry eye application” and “Automated Diagnosis of Coronary Artery Disease Using ECG Signals”, “Cooling and phototherapy glove for Neuropathy treatment and pain relief treatment for cancer patient”.

James Or graduated from NUS/NTI in 1987 with Honours Degree in Electrical Electronics Engineering (EEE) and obtained his Masters (EEE) from NTU in 1994. Prior to joining NP, he worked as a R&D engineer in Defence Science Organisation from 1987 to 1993 in areas of image processing, Digital Signal Processing, multi-computing and Neural Networks. In NP, he was involved in teaching electrical engineering modules like Microcontroller, Programming, Electrical Circuit Analysis, Electrical Installation, Electronics, Control and Projects. His project work involved Home Automation consultancy project which completed a distributed control device for a company. His also contributed a publication on this to IFAC Workshop held in South Korea. He is currently a Senior Manager of CET part time diplomas. He is actively involved in the management of CET PTD programmes which comprise of Mechanical, Mechatronic, Marine and Offshore, Aerospace, Electronics and Electrical diplomas.
