What time does trivia night start and how long does it last?

The event starts at around 6:30 PM and typically lasts about 3 hours, ending around 9:30 PM, including a short intermission.

Where in the hotel is trivia held?

We host trivia in ibis Styles MacPherson Hotel, Chat & Chow Poolside Cafe @ level 4. Just follow the signs from the main lobby or ask for direction from our hotel friendly staff.

Do I need to sign up in advance?

Reservations are highly recommended for groups of 4 or more. Walk‑ins are very welcome too, but seating is based on first‑come, first‑served. You can reserve a table by calling the front desk +65 66226000 or Poolside Cafe  at +65 86906090.

Can I play if I’m traveling alone?

Absolutely! We’ll happily place solo guests onto a “mixed team” with other friendly guest at the host table.

How many people can be on a team?

The ideal team size is 4 to 6 people. Larger groups can split into two teams – just let our host know to decide.

What kinds of questions are asked?

up to 100 questions will be asked, "All about SINGAPORE". Within that theme, questions are a mix of easy, medium, and challenging – plus one or two picture or audio rounds.

Can we use our phones to look up answers?

Accepted Answer

No, that takes the fun away. We trust you to play fair – it’s a friendly competition. Anyone caught searching may be asked to put the phone away or be "penalized"  by our host to do a penalty (eg; dance or sing a short song! :P

Is there a food or drink minimum?

No minimum, but we do encourage you to enjoy our special trivia‑night snacks & our signature trivia cocktail during the event!

Can I order food and drinks during the game?

Yes – our team will be walking around, and you can also order directly from the bar. We pause for a 10‑minute break halfway through so you can refresh without missing a question.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes, the venue area is on level 4 with lift access and flat floor with no steps. There is an accessible elevator if coming from other parts of the hotel. Accessible restrooms are located just on the event floor (level 4).

Is the event loud or flashing lights?

Accepted Answer

We keep the volume moderate and do not use strobe or flashing lights. There is occasional audience cheering and a quiet music interlude, but no sudden loud effects. If you are sensitive to noise, we can seat you farther from the speakers. Let us know when you arrived and we will make arrangements.

What do the winners receive?

The first‑place team wins a weekend staycation voucher, with many other prizes like dining vouchers and bottles of wine, etc. There is also a “Best Team Name” prize.

How are ties broken?

If multiple teams have the same score, the final question becomes a sudden‑death tiebreaker. Each tied team writes a single answer – the closest correct answer wins!

Can I win a prize even if my team doesn’t come in first?

We will be giving random prizes throughout the night – anyone who played is eligible.

What is the age limit?

All ages are welcome to watch, but teams members is ideally to be min 16 and above to play. Minors can be part of a team if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Is there any inappropriate content?

Accepted Answer

No – we keep questions family‑friendly and hotel‑appropriate. No offensive or explicit material.

What if there is an emergency during the event?

Our hotel staff is trained in emergency procedures. We will clearly announce any instructions. Exits are marked, and the nearest first‑aid kit is at the front cashier counter.
