An Chun pursued his formal music education at the "Louis Spohr" Music Academy in Kassel, Germany, majoring in trumpet pedagogy under the guidance of Helmut Poehner. He subsequently completed his Master's degree at the University of Music Münster. Alongside his academic training, he received additional instruction from renowned trumpet pedagogues and performers including Willem van der Vliet (Netherlands), Philippe Litzler (France), and Luis González (Spain).

In addition to his performance work, An Chun has competed in several esteemed international competitions. He participated in the 2018 Jeju International Brass and Percussion Competition and was a finalist in the 2020 Trumpet Competition organized by the Taiwan Trumpet Association.

As a performer, An Chun has worked with notable ensembles such as the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra (Singapore), The Philharmonic Orchestra, and others. Prior to his studies in Germany, he was actively involved in music education, coaching secondary school wind ensembles across Singapore.
