UM MITHM PAC Forum 2026
Overview
About the Event
The tourism and hospitality industry continues to evolve rapidly due to globalization, new technologies, sustainability needs, and shifting expectations of guests and the workforce. To remain relevant and globally competitive, academic institutions—especially those offering the Master in International Tourism and Hospitality Management (MITHM) program—must ensure that their curriculum stays aligned with these developments.
The Program Advisory Council (PAC) Forum provides a strategic venue where educators, industry professionals, government representatives, alumni, and professional organizations come together to review the curriculum, discuss emerging trends, and strengthen the connection between education and real-world practice.
This forum aims to:
- Keep the MITHM curriculum updated and globally competitive
- Strengthen cooperation between academia and industry
- Discuss trends, challenges, and opportunities in tourism and hospitality
- Ensure alignment between educational outcomes and real-world workforce needs
Supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The PAC Forum reinforces the university’s commitment to the United Nations SDGs by:
- SDG 4 – Quality Education: Promoting inclusive and high-quality learning
- SDG 8 – Decent Work & Economic Growth: Aligning academic outcomes with labor market needs
- SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: Encouraging collaboration and shared expertise among stakeholders
