How to better cope and support common mental health issues.

About this event

Learners will learn to identify and be aware of common mental health issues faced by Seniors & pick up basic tips/skills to better cope and provide support to them.

Learning Outcome

At the end of the course, Learners should be able to:

• Define what good mental health is

• Distinguish the Facts and Myths about mental health in Seniors

• Identify the risk factors and symptoms of mental health issues

• Explain the common mental health issues among the seniors

• Explain & demonstrate the steps to deliver Mental Health First Aid

• Identify ways to support Caregivers

• Identify Community Resources for Seniors

Trainer Profile:

Ms Wong Lai Chun (MSc, BA, DIP TM, Cert Counselling) was a Senior Assistant Director of Samaritans of Singapore (SOS), a 24-hour hotline for suicide prevention and the author of the book published in 2019 – ‘Do I Matter’. She is also a Certified Behavioural Consultant and Life Coach from Institute of Motivational Living Inc. (USA) American University of NLP. She has many years of training locally and internationally and speaks at international conferences and company events, and on radio and TV programmes.
