What are writers producing, and what are publishers and readers looking out for in a book? Hear from each panel as the speakers discuss about the challenges and opportunities in creating middle grade books in the different languages.The session will be conducted via the Zoom platform. For enquiries, please email <a href="http://programmes@bookcouncil.sg" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">programmes@bookcouncil.sg</a><h3>எஸ். ராமகிருஷ்ணன்</h3>நவீனத் தமிழ் இலக்கியத்தின் மிக முக்கிய எழுத்தாளர். கடந்த 30 ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் மேலாகச் சிறுகதைகள், நாவல், கட்டுரைகள், நாடகம், குழந்தைகள் இலக்கியம், மொழிபெயர்ப்பு, சினிமா, இணையம் என்று பல்வேறு தளங்களிலும் தீவிரமாக இயங்கி வருகிறார். நூற்றுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட புத்தகங்களை எழுதியிருக்கிறார்,மகாபாரதத்தை மையமாகக் கொண்டு எழுதிய உப பாண்டவம் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க நாவல், இவரது சஞ்சாரம் நாவல் இந்தியாவின் உயரிய இலக்கிய விருதான சாகித்ய அகாதமி விருது பெற்றுள்ளது. இது போலவே யாமம் நாவல் தாகூர் விருதைப் பெற்றிருக்கிறது.இவரது கதைகள் ஆங்கிலம், ஜெர்மன், பிரெஞ்சு, மலையாளம், கன்னடம், தெலுங்கு, ஹிந்தி, பெங்காலி மொழிகளில் மொழியாக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன..இவரது படைப்புகளை ஆய்வு செய்து ஆறு பேர் டாக்டர் பட்டம் பெற்றிருக்கிறார்கள். 14 பேர் எம்பில் பட்டம் பெற்றிருக்கிறார்கள். பள்ளி மற்றும் கல்லூரிகளில் இவரது கதைகள் பாடமாக வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.முழுநேர எழுத்தாளரான இவர் சென்னையில் வாழ்ந்துவருகிறார்.A prolific full-time writer, S. Ramakrishnan has been active in the Tamil literary scene for the last 30 years in diverse areas of modern Tamil literature such as short stories, novels, and plays. His publication credits include 10 novels, 20 collections of short stories, 75 collections of essays, 15 books for children and 9 plays. His short stories are noted for their modern story-telling style in Tamil. In the past, he had also served as the editor of the literary publication, Atcharam. He has published 24 books and has written more than 230 stories for children. Apart from working in children&#x27;s literature, he has been constantly contributing in the educational field and parenting kids. He devised an innovative programme &#x27;Vasippu Mugaam&#x27;- Reading Workshop, which propagates reading habits among rural and urban children. He is currently the General Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Children Writers and Artists Association. He also seeks to establish informal libraries by sending books to villages. He has bagged many awards for his books as well. He writes in English, Tamil and Spanish. He was awarded the Singapore Literature Prize (SLP) for Tamil prose fiction and Merit Prize for Tamil poetry in 2016. Sithuraj has written 3 novels, 3 short story collections, a collection of literary essays, 3 poetry collections and 2 YA books in Tamil from 2016-2020. He has currently completed his first English collection (&#x27;Keynesian Crocodiles&#x27;) and untitled short story collection in English. Both will appear in late 2020. <h2>About Beyond Words</h2>Developing Children&#x27;s Literature: Beyond Words is programme designed to develop middle grade writers in the Chinese, Malay and Tamil languages.Beyond Words comprises a series of programmes, including talks, panels, workshops and mentorships which are intended to nurture middle grade writers in Chinese, Malay and Tamil with the potential to support the publication of selected manuscripts both in print and as digital and audio books. This programme is supported by the National Arts Council of Singapore and Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents who have attended the programmes are eligible to submit a manuscript for the mentorship scheme and for publication support.
